Temporary Foreign Worker Program

The Temporary Foreign Worker Program is an employer driven process, whereby a Canadian employer must apply for an LMIA. Under TFWP, an employer must advertise the job post they wish to fill at least 4 weeks before filing the LMIA application. It must also be demonstrated that there are no qualified Canadians who are able to take over the described job post. Only if a positive LMIA is issued, a foreign worker can apply for the work permit.

Open Work Permit Without an LMIA
